'06 350 completely pimped out along with the requsite Banks 6Gun

PDA system which actually gives you 7 states of tune, so you can go from Forrest Gump stupid to outright drooller.

Well folks it's got 2 weak holes and spews coolant out the exhaust and the degas bottle, all problems fixable and not that big a deal for a weathered 6.0 tech, just another day at the office, right?

What's got me pissed is Ford and my shop management.

You see, this is not the first one this douchebag has cooked, that dubious honor went to his '04 Harley, which this truck replaced.

The customer was specifically told not to hotrod this one, or consult with me as to what would be acceptable, so as to not blow it up, but noooooooo!

More money than brains I tell ya, Archie woulda' called this one meathead.

Well, bottom line is, the FSE is a sackless wonder, who gave in to the whinings of management because "he is such a good customer" and now I am repairing this "step ladder required pimp wagon" for warranty pay, WTF!!

I have now made the decision that none of the Banks crap is getting hooked back up, as my job requires me to only connect the factory PCM. Fuck 'em.

What say you?

Here are pics of it I took earlier in the year when it blew open the CAC like a mailbox door, later came the tube hoses torn to hell. Still with the little tires on it now it sits on 36"ers, whoopee!

Who is your FSE? Being fairly close and the FSE's and Rep's being so thinned out... I am shocked that they said to fix it. I am confident we would have turned him down. Then again, shit like this has happened here too. They might say "well, if he is a good customer, the choice is up to you." Way to go in upholding the terms of the warranty. And they break OUR chops?

My service manager won't let me fill out any prior approval sheets because he knows how I will fill them out. It has happened before. But I always write down all the mod's on the R.O. And when we go through audits, my R.O's get picked on because of the modifications written down.

Warning: never lie for your management. Always write down the mods on the R.O. That way, no one can say you never notified managemant. When I was Foreman at a previous dealership, the auditors pulled techs into the board room and had private meetings with us individually as to why all these trucks were being warrantied. It was a total interogation. I told all my techs back then the same thing and to always cover their own ass. After the private meetings, the auditors nailed the ever living shit out of the dealer principal with huge charge back who just so happened to be acting as service manager at the time. I justt smiled and said, "told ya so".

Never accept responsibility for hiding modifications. It's easy to get caught. You never know what the other dealership technicians have told Hotline about the these type of vehicles. That was how that last dealership got caught.

And not only that, it is just morally wrong.

All I can say is sorry. The last dealership I worked at was like that. We overhauled or replaced the trans in a truck 6 times in the 36k it was under warranty because the guy was pumping 25 psi of boost in a 7.3 and pulling very large heavy equipment around with it. I had a blow out with the service manager about warranty there over a t-bird that had just gone through detail and now had 8 coils underwater for a week. I said you can warranty that, but not with my number on the ticket. There was some yelling and fuck you's tossed back and forth then he bullied someone else into doing it under warranty. Just to note the updated coil covers had just been installed before it was traded in.

I'm not sure how many guys here have visited their regional technical training facility, done WBTs or even the old CD <another goofy acronym here>.....

Ma Ford drills SSCC into us at every turn.... symptom to system to component to cause.... Along with all the other drivel we may write on the back of the RO, it is vitally important that we include the symptoms we saw.... the system involved, the component(s) affected and what we believe to be the cause. If the cause is a modification... include that info.

At the same time, I have been told I have the "gift of the gab".... I refuse to lie but there are times that I've had to "dance with the truth" to appease "good" customers and management alike.... I catch a lot of crap for keeping the odd work order past cut-off... but after I write my tale of woe, I like to ruminate on it for a while to ensure that I'm not saying anything I wish I hadn't (quite unlike my posts on the internet).

Never, ever, ever exceed your level of comfort.... My first loyalty is to my customer.. this is the person that allows my boss to give me his autograph twice a month. If he wants to act like a !@#!?$!, I can treat him like a !@#!?$!....

But when push comes to shove.... SSCC

Wow.... I didn't know that t w a t had that many letters /forums/images/%%GRAEMLIN_URL%%/king.gif

And if there was only ONE word left in the censor list, Jim would find it! /forums/images/%%GRAEMLIN_URL%%/rofl.gif Good advice though. It certainly looks like the theme here is to learn how to completely and accurately write up a repair order and document additional things you may find. Sometimes you have to go beyond circuit and connector numbers and wire colors! My descriptive write-ups have helped my SM many times during audits especially on diesel tickets that had M-time applied to special circumstances. If your findings, diagnostics and repairs require special handling or give you a reason to drop it like it's hot always back it up in writing. Got a digital camera in your shop? I have my old camera in my box. It only takes a few minutes to take a picture, load it on my laptop, print it and attach it to the RO. Wanna protect the photo? Put the repair order in the printer and print the photo right on it.
