Alex Bruene
Earlier today, as I was replacing my 7th blown LCF A/C compressor of the summer... I started to wonder... what's with all the damn blown LCF A/C compressors?
LARRY BRUDZYNSKI
I haven't seen many LCF's but we've had a run on 07 F650-F750 a/c comp. and let me tell you it's been a real Bitch trying to get them!!! /forums/images/%%GRAEMLIN_URL%%/banghead.gif
Keith Browning
Alex I think I have done about 5 now. On LCF's. Funny thing is, they didn't come in for lack of A/c. Three were no starts because the compressors had seized and the pulleys were locked up. This kept the engines from cranking fast enough to start. One had a bad burning smell that was a clutch field that was glowing red and burning the belt. The last one kept blowing fuses from the clutch shorting, the pulley bearing failed and wiped out the compressor housing. Isn't this shit fun? /forums/images/%%GRAEMLIN_URL%%/eek.gif
DieselD
the first one I had that did that to be kicked my ass. oh the simple issues that hide themselves /forums/images/%%GRAEMLIN_URL%%/banghead.gif
Keith Browning
Small World. We just sold our last 2006 LCF that has been sitting in the lot. It was detailed for delivery and was fueled up. The prep department driver smalls a nasty smell and saw smoke. I just lowered the cab. The clutch was glowing red... guess the delivery will be pushed back until Mon or Tues. Aaron_Johnson
LOL didn't even make it off the lot. We do tons of econoline compressors. Usually for no starts or blowing the belt off, but like you said they wern't complaining of lack of a/c
Alex Bruene
I did put in a hotline request just to see if there were any fixes out there, or a known reason for the failures... all they told me is that they have heard of a few failures, but not too many, keep monitoring OASIS... yada, yada, yada...
