I have a 7.3L idi with a fuel leak at the number 2 fuel line at the pump coming from the center of the nut along the line. Looks like the line has been replaced and maybe stripped or the fitting is damaged causing a poor seal.

I need to know if the injector line fittings on the pump are available otherwise he will need a new pump which is kind of a shame to have to do for a stupid fitting. Our part list does not show them separately. Anyone know otherwise?

Hey Keith I will get 1 for you, being that I now work at a rebuilding shop and have access to these parts. These are not avail. service parts but I have some cores that I can get 1 from. I will let you know shortly.

Keith I was just handed the fitting, send me your address and I will get it out today. /forums/images/%%GRAEMLIN_URL%%/cheers.gif

Larry gets a five-headbanger salute!

I sent you a PM and thank you! I was about to look in the Yellow Pages for a fuel shop.

Now, imagine if the 200 or so people that regularly logon actually participated? Then again, why fill it up with posts made for the sake of makin them? WOW! This site spits out the answer while you type it.

Yeah it came today Larry, I had to wait until I got home to know. Thanks. Now, could ya ask your fuel guy if there are any surprises behind that fitting? It is for the #2 cylinder which is on the bottom. Keeping things clean is not a problem but flying or rolling parts could be if I don't know about them. Pump on or should I take it off? Torque value or just snug it up?

No suprises to be had there is a torque spec, just waiting for my pump shop to get it for me...stay tuned...

If it was me I would pull it off just to make sure that everything else is good with it.

52-60 lb.ft. torque. /forums/images/%%GRAEMLIN_URL%%/drinkingdude.gif

Worked well, the leak is fixed. It appears as though someone has recently replaced the line, all of the return hoses and injector collars along with the injectors. I put the old fitting in a vice and installed the line which I could rock and twist with the nut tight! I didn't see anything wrong with the fitting but there had to be something.

Fixed the leak Larry. Thats all the guy expected which is good because the truck still ran like crap. Old Italian mason - we have quite a few still cruising around in 1980's trucks. I am actually surprised that both are still working.
