Tony302600
Anybody have any tricks on doing the passenger side valve cover on the e-vans?
Alex Bruene
Although I don't find removing the drivers side engine mount to be difficult by any means... You can also remove the front cab mount bolts near the rad support, and the front 2 in the cab and jack the body up just enough to slip a 2X4 in the front between the frame and body. It will leave more than enough room to get the cover out. If the front bolts will come out that is. I wouldn't try it on a bus or ambulance though. On edit: Please don't shoot me down Jim... I had to figure out a way to do it once on a van that had a generator mounted to the engine that wouldn't allow the engine to drop enough to pull the cover out. I would sooner take the 7 minutes involved to remove the mount.
Aaron
+1 on jacking up the cab, as long as it won't damage anything. (bus body, ambulance, etc.)

Alex Bruene
Lucky for me its an ambulance....... 7 minutes to take the mount out? after all the removals in the workshop manual Out of all the removals listed in the service manual to remove the motor mount... I believe removing the motor mount is the only removal I perform.
slim
I don't lift the engine the way the WSM describes. I just put a floor jack under where the trans and rear cover come together, just don't go too crazy trying to lift the whole vehicle up. Tony302600
Following the workshop manual up to the engine hoist part (took ure guys' advice and used post jack) it took me 1.5 hours to take it apart. Now this is on a cargo E-350 normal utility van. First time took me 6hours (not ashamed to admit that). Thanks for ure help guys.
