matthew Posted November 22, 2007 Share Posted November 22, 2007 just bought out a independant shop only 3 years old and im a ford certified diesel tech and trans tech 10 years or so.just leased about 20,000 dollars of diag equipment by bosch and ae got ford ids with dell laptop vcm vmm and have chrysler,dodge,honda, toyota,chevy reprogram capabilities.a lab scope thats seems to be a sweet deal you dont have to remove coil packs on fords to test you have a wand you hook up and just touch tops of coils and you can find the ones good or bad.looking for someone who may have invested in some of this stuff and looking for feedback.thank you all.........desltech!!!!! BTDTGTTS, it looks like you've made some good decisions. What are you using for programming- J2534? Which one? What exactly are you looking for feedback on? Which scope? MOD/Alldata? Be careful of leasing too much- it is a common mistake for a new shop owner to do this. Joey Kaylor Posted November 23, 2007 Share Posted November 23, 2007 for 20k, i assume you got an MT5200, Tech II, and a Mastertech. you are well outfitted for just about anything that comes through your doors, the biggest thing is keeping them up to date. the MT5200 is a nice tool, learn to use it and all its functions and it will speed up diagnostics. just be warned the battery lasts about 14 minutes off the vehicle. the touch screen is sensitive, so make sure it is stored well. matthew Posted December 1, 2007 Author Share Posted December 1, 2007 yes got all the works had a plymoth voyager int.stumble and die on hard accellaration.scoped the wires found sec.ignition not getting ove 12kv removed dis.cap found rotor button burned into replaced rotor and cap sec.went to 32kv.saved lots of time and dig with this equipment customer had at other shop they replaced ecm,fuel pump,and coil pak when we fixed it they was extatic.man it feels good to work with some great stuff.....
