JAKE_MORSE
Hey guys, I have a 03 short bus with the de-gas bottle half full of fuel. I have removed all injectors and press. tested system and no obvious leaks. So then I plugged in the block heater and kept the press. on the cooling system. How long sould I have to wait to see a leak? I know I will have to pull heads for this fix, but was looking for some tips. thanks
kevin phillips
the one i had showed up in a few min but it was hard to see with a mirror you might be able to rig up a puller and leave the heads on.i've seen some pulled in chassis on trucks might be enough room on the bus.cleaning out all the cups good and coolant dye helped on mine to reveal the culprit.make sure and order the rubber hoses for the cooling system.they will swell and rupture. JAKE_MORSE
Thanks for the response Kevin. I'll give it a shot and see what I can come up with. I did order all the rubber for this truck thinking that could happen.
Joey Kaylor
replace every single cup, do all inj. seals also, flush the cooling system several times to clean out the fuel, change all hoses, and you may want to do an oil cooler. you can do them in the van, the Iron Tite kit is what you need. then check to see why it overheated in the first place. these only go out when pushed hard and overheated, from what i have seen. Alex Bruene
A little off topic... but last week, we had 3 trucks come in with fuel in the coolant... one 7.3 Econoline, which I got... and 2 6.0's, one van, and one truck... which my poor neighbor got both of... I can't believe that we got 3 in one week. That's all.
