sondogg12
is the panasonic toughbook and the dell d610 the only notebooks that are compatible with vcm??
Bruce Amacker
Other notebooks will work but may not be supported by tech support. I have IDS loaded on a HP NC6230 and went through some tough times getting it to communicate with the VCM. It works fine, now. Don't forget XP Pro. Good Luck! LR Mike
I use IDS on my HP dv1000, installed and ran no issues. Others here use HP, Compaq and Dell. Only real issue so far has been firewalls and making sure everyone is at the same IDS update level as we share a common VCM.
Keith Browning
I will concur that info. IDS will work an any decent PC or notebook that meets the minimum system requirements. The advice about firewalls is very important. Not being logged onto mine threw me into a 2-hour circle jerk with the Hot Line. The key is to remember that! /forums/images/%%GRAEMLIN_URL%%/mad.gif And Bruce is right, if you don't have one of the PC's that Ford sells don't expect any support. In my go around with support I was initially grilled for dealer information and verification.
