ChristopherH
We have three diesel guys here, and most of the time we have plenty of 6.0 work to keep us busy. (Granted, its not always the greatest work to have, but it beats no work and no pay) Since the 6.4 came out, we have seen very few of the new trucks with problems (at least compared to what we experienced with 6.0). Has anyone else noticed a slow down--or is it just us? Just wondering if I need to sharpen my skills on some other specialty areas soon! kevin phillips
we are seeing a whole lot less 6.4 problems than what we had on the 6.
Steve Mutter
How are the Superdutys selling? we don't seem to be selling alot of them, back in 2005 and 2006 it seemed like we were selling one a day, and most of them were diesel
Keith Browning
Pretty much the same here Christopher. We are still busy with plenty of 6.0L work and virtually no 6.4L work except for leaking radiators and check engine lights. By now we have sold quite a few but I know we stocked up on 2007 trucks thinking the 6.4L launch was going to screw us. Still have some too! We have been doing a lot of up sell work lately, front ends, brakes and services that usually takes one of my guys out for the rest of the day with good hours. Let us not forget at least one fuel tank per week...
Tony302600
ive been getting a good amount of fleet 6.4's with the engine light on for the p0196. I have had 3 trucks with a P0066 correlation codes, 5 radiators, one intermittant stall, and one with stuck exhaust valves. BTW has anyone had to torque the heads down yet besides me??? my breaker bar looked like a bow-and-arrow it was bent so much on the last 90degree turn. Alex Bruene
my breaker bar looked like a bow-and-arrow it was bent so much on the last 90degree turn.I have a 5' handle 3/4" drive ratchet... works wonders...
Fordracer
I use a torque multiplier with a 4:1 ratio to torque diesel head bolts. You can turn the last 90 degrees with one hand. No more bowed breaker bars.

Jim Warman
A long time ago, one of our Canadian breweries decided to market an "American" style beer. They had a contest to name this new product and this old girl from the prairies won. Her name for the brew? "Love On The Beach". They held a gala press conference to award this womans prize.. with microphones and TV cameras and reporters.... what an event. The preisdent of the brewery asked her how she came up with such a unique name for this American beer "clone".... She replied <drum roll, please> "I called it Love On The Beach because I thought it was f@ckin' near water....". /forums/images/%%GRAEMLIN_URL%%/rofl.gif /forums/images/%%GRAEMLIN_URL%%/rofl.gif /forums/images/%%GRAEMLIN_URL%%/rofl.gif I am.ca..... ehhh? GregH
Speaking of long setups, here's one of my favorites: My mate Petersen once bought a pair of shoes with artificial intelligence. Smart Shoes they were called. It was a neat idea. No matter how blind drunk you were they could always get you home. Well, he got ratted one night in Oslo, and he woke up the next morning in Burma. See the shoes got bored just going from the local pub to his flat. They wanted to see the world, you see. He had a hell of a time getting rid of them. No matter who he sold them to, they’d show up the next day. He tried to shake them off, but they’d just kick the door down. The last thing he’d heard, they’d sort of robbed a car and driven it into a canal. They couldn’t steer, you see. Petersen was really really blown away about it. He went to see a priest. The priest told him that it was alright. He said the shoes were happy and they’d gone to heaven. Ya see, it turns out shoes have souls.
