jaysonfordtech
Holy crap that thing was hard. Now I admit I am not the smartest guy out there, and far from the world’s best tech but damn! Have any of you guys taken this thing? Do they even offer it to the red headed step children up north? I let some of the kids take the practice test, and also let my service manager take it. The service manager scored better than the 2 tech school kids, lol.
Jim Warman
There used to be a "back door" that a guy from Canada could slip through (Do you guys still have "ask Ernie"?)... There would be a link to the test there... But, I guess they didn't like some @sshole from Canada sneaking in there and looking around... And I haven't been able to find a way in since. I keep hoping I'll find something on PowerStroke Central... FWIW.... we don't get anywhere near the goodies you guys do.... They've changed the Senior and Master achievement "carrots" and I'm unsure of those anymore.... Used to be $1000 and a jacket for Senior.... and $1500 and a Sieko watch for Master... I believe it is close to similar but they've worked diesel certification into the picture somehow. They would also draw from submitted EDSRs and award a few $50 prizes every quarter.... Since they changed the name to GCR, we haven't seen any draws AFAIK. A long time ago, we even had an online product knowledge test - IIRC, the prize there was 50 or a hunn.... also gone... eastendpowerstroke
I haven't been able to take it for a few years because I was a NY regional finalist in 2005. So I had to look over the shoulder of one of my guys to see the new test. I wish I could at least take the practice exam just to keep up on the info. LARRY BRUDZYNSKI
Quote: FWIW.... we don't get anywhere near the goodies you guys do.... Jim don't worry about all the trinkets that they give us down here in Yankeeville, remember that Ford gets it all from China, full of lead and chemicals that have been outlawed here for years but some people in the government have opened the doors to all of their junk, and we are all paying for it now. Just was screwing around and found five more recalls for lead laced products. I am dreading the day that my beer, and rye(Crown) starts coming from there. /forums/images/%%GRAEMLIN_URL%%/cover.gif
snw blue by you
The SMT in my shop, who I have a great deal of respect for scored a 28. So I told him he was roughly 50% stupid that day. He also said it was extremely difficult. A friend of his/former co-worker from Kansas became national champ last year. I guess you have just about a minute per question, nope I'm a !@#!?$!, I'll pass.
eastendpowerstroke
I don't remember what my score was the last time I took it but it was good enough to place me 4th in the online test, I finished my regional comp in 2nd place. The guy that took first came in second in the national comp so I guess I did ok.
Tony302600
I should make the DP take it. /forums/images/%%GRAEMLIN_URL%%/smirk.gif
slim
I thought it was a little easier this year, less trans questions and a little more diesel. I also brushed up on NVH since those were so hard last year. I got 38/50 with 14/20 tiebreakers. A couple of years ago I made the standby position but I think I'll make it to the regionals this year. If I do I'll be back looking for help on what to look out for there.
