Mekanik
I'm working on another 2008 F350 with a 6.4l engine. The fluid in the power steering resivoir looks like a strawberry milkshake. I'm assuming that water got in there. The fluid was previously flushed for this same concern not long ago by someone else here. The truck is equipped with a plow. I can kind of see how snow could possibly end up on top of the resivoir and end up inside. Has anyone else seen this on one of these? BrunoWilimek
I have not yet encountered this in an 08 S.D. We have at least 2 of them with plows that we service. I would be looking for something that directs water to the top of the reservoir cap, possibly something out of place or a part related to the plow that is installed in such a manner as to direct water/snow to the cap. I have seen this problem before on Aerostars(remember those),that had a rubber cowl drain tube that was secured only with a flimsy plastic clamp. If the drain plugged up, making the tube heavy, or the tube fell off for any other reason, the cowl drained directly onto the P.S. reservoir cap. Mekanik
I ended up replacing the resivoir because I think its the most likely point to let water in the system. Then I flushed the power steering system really really good. If he has the same problem next winter, I'll deal with it then. I looked, but did not see anything that might cause water to enter the system. /forums/images/%%GRAEMLIN_URL%%/shrug.gif
