Keith Browning
This post was wayyyyy off. Please disregard! /forums/images/%%GRAEMLIN_URL%%/blush.gif Depending on the model year/production date it is one of the two IPR sockets in your special service tool kits. If you reference the proper shop manual engine section on disassembly you will find the part number for the IPR socket... along with all the other tools needed to work on the engine. Mekanik
I have a 1/2" drive crowfoot that is a 12 point from Snap-On. It is the only thing I have ever used for IPRs on 7.3Ls. Maybe tomorrow, when I'm at work I can post the tool #. Remember that the nut on the end is torqued to 53 in/lbs. You don't want to overtighten it and distort that coil. Keith Browning
Holy CRAP! /forums/images/%%GRAEMLIN_URL%%/blush.gif I just realized this is in the 7.3L forum. /forums/images/%%GRAEMLIN_URL%%/boink3.gif And nobody pointed it out... so scratch my post above and hear this! I remove the 3/4" nut and the coil from the IPR and remove the valve with a Craftsman deep 1-1/8" six point socket on a 1/2" flex head ratchet. Mekanik
I thought you were talking about the tools for a 6.0l IPR, but I didn't want to say anything.

Jim Warman
/forums/images/%%GRAEMLIN_URL%%/blush.gif Lookie there.... Keeepthfff is gettin' damned near as goofy as I are.... Ever had a day when up seemed a lot like down?.... When the guy in your face just seems to deserve killin'?... When you think to yourself "why did you do that you fargin' idjit?"?... Or you're talking to a guy that just bought three new diesel SDs... and call him by his brothers name? When we make mistakes.... we can recover from them gracefully (sometimes)... ignore them - sometimes they will just go away... One safe bet is to pretend that someone else heard you wrong.... (WARNING - this doesn't work with printed material...). One thing that we can be assured of is "brain-farts".... Accept them... But if you can avoid it, never admit that you were wrong.... I thought I was wrong once.... but I was mistaken.... /forums/images/%%GRAEMLIN_URL%%/grin.gif
