DamageINC
...so yeah, after my wonderful experience replacing a 6.4 on a Village dump truck equipped with the most absurd plow frame in the history of snowfall and enough poorly routed aftermarket wiring to make a tow-strap for the tug-of-war at a monster truck rally, and a 40+line warranty story through ADP with to-the-tee details of the diagnosis and work performed, Ford Motor Company determined it was suffecient to pay me a whole 10.5 hours for the job. I had about 27 invested when it was all said and done. Kinda feel like selling my tools and starting bakery or something. Dave
SteveS
That sucks! What a way to kill your paycheck (and your enthusiasm).
DwayneGorniak
Try doing exploratory surgery for TSB 07-08-09 where the 6.4L crankcase level is at 25 litres in 6000 km's and Hotline has you inspect every freakin injector and injection pump, only to find no leaks. Then they tell you to quit wasting time and put it back together and punt it out the door. And they tell you that 6.4L's make oil over extended amounts of idling due to regen washing down the cylinders and fuel getting past the rings. then they kick the repair order back over and over. /forums/images/%%GRAEMLIN_URL%%/banghead.gifLuckily, we have a policy here: Tech gets paid no matter what. Service deals with the the problem in the end. /forums/images/%%GRAEMLIN_URL%%/crazy.gif Not saying your situation is any better. I just understand. Keith Browning
Yeah we get paid what is coded on the repair order and submitted. If it bounces we correct it and resubmit the claim but if there is any reason why the claim gets rejected we still get the time. Usually claims do not get paid for administrative or approval reasons. It is rare that one will get eaten because of the technician or parts but I have seen it happen.
Tony302600
Us too, they will tell us about it, we will go over the ticket with them to make sure we did everything correctly, but 9outta10 times its STUPID F-IN W.P.I. I hate that stupid company, and so Does Ford. Dave, when i did the head on the 6.4, I got 10hours M-time just to get the cab up. Tow truck was a bitch with all the wiring, pump's, hoses. ANd then the rest of the time to do the head. I don't get what's wrong with your dealership. Why don't you sit down and right down labor opps on the R.O. I've started doing that, it's reduced a lot of problems
DwayneGorniak
We look up our own times here as well Tony. And we will go over the R.O's together with our Assistant Service manager and Warranty Clerk to make sure there is nothing we missed and to make sure we are on top of the warranty Nazi's. Our Assistant Service Manager will even go to our District Operations Manager (Ford Rep) if she has to go over the Nazi's heads. /forums/images/%%GRAEMLIN_URL%%/boxing.gif
Aaron
Our tower operator looks up our labour codes, but I do my own anyway. I used to look my own up where I used to work, and I like doing it because I know i claim what I did. Not just REPLACE EGR COOLER - .2 which I'm sure would ge claimed if I did not claim the access time. I write good stories, too.
Tony302600
Well Dave....WTF happened with that ticket.
HeuiTim
I write good stories, too.-The most important part of getting warranty claims paid. Sounds like some dealers are stroking you guys by back charging the techs. We write the stroy, warranty writes the claim, they deal with it when/if it gets kicked backed, extra labor will get written off on a separate account so the dealer still gets paid. What warranty pays and reality are very different things sometimes. But thats why I don't work at Ford.
