6.4L Front Crank Oil Leak

Yep. Check the front crankshaft snout for runout Keith. Max is .002". I had one that was 004" and cracked the front oil pump cover. Tech hotline knows of this concern and they say that in most cases when the snout is bent, the front seal will walk out of the oil pump cover.

Sorry for replyin late Keith. I had the unfortunate opportunity of putting a crank in it. They stock cranks in our Edmonton warehouse if that says anything. And I lost my ass on that job. /forums/images/%%GRAEMLIN_URL%%/crybaby2.gif Have you measured or checked anything out yet?

I wrote the Hotline and asked for known issues and advice on this one given your experience. They replied by telling me that they have seen problems with the gerotor covers and seals and told me to replace both. When apart I am to inspect the dowels and the cover and check the crank nose run out. Parts are on order.
