snw blue by you
I just made up the noid light and I am curious as to it's op. KOEO, both lamps flash with the same brightness, yet running the open coil side is significantly dimmer, wazzup? Does the open side have a higher draw? or is this indicitive of some other concern? I would assume both coils would have the same requirements.
DwayneGorniak
I would have to say that it is due to the length of pulse width that they use for the inductive heating strategy when the key is first turned on or something like that. Then when during the click test, there would be less pulse width to simply just click the injectors. Just my thoughts. Who knows, I could be wrong. /forums/images/%%GRAEMLIN_URL%%/shrug.gif
Jim Warman
Just tossing an idea around, Stephen... I built a noid light and haven't had the opportunity to use it yet... but a reasonable guess would have the light being dim simply because the <ON> pulse doesn't last very long (meaning it doesn't have time to come to full luminescence). At the same time, the off pulse could be, by design, much longer to ensure that the injector turns off. FWIW, current limiting could be one function of a short pulse. If they'd quit throwing all this damned new stuff at a guy, he'd have time to make a study of some of these finer points...
Tony302600
I used mine on friday to diagnose a Bad FICM causing ckt codes. I didn't get the noid light operation til i put it on a known good one. When on KOEO, both light's were bright, at idle they were dim... maybe because it's not fully loaded. I'm sure if you revved it up then it would get brighter. when keyed up do you think they supply full voltage to the injectors during the keyed up cylcling?
