Horrible Ride

I have been critical of the steering stability and ride quality of gasoline powered Super Duty trucks since the change to coil springs. Over bumps the front end hops often moving the truck to one side and bumping the steering wheel in your hand. Let us not forget the steering oscillation problem addressed by TSB 07-10-10. The general ride is bouncy and at times in the past driving one of these sometimes makes me feel queasy.

I have my Freestyle in the shop for a bad alternator which is on backorder so I am currently driving a 2008 F250 with 5.4L. No improvement in handling. I also feel that the 5.4L is a dog unless you mash the accelerator to the floor. Perhaps I am just so used to the diesel trucks that the gassers just seem so different. I am just very surprised at the difference and even more surprised we don't hear more complaints about the handling. I could never own one.

I have never really paid attention to how well a 5.4L Superduty rides. Most likely because I don't care. /forums/images/%%GRAEMLIN_URL%%/shrug.gif But every time I get into a V10, I am always impressed with the whole truck. /forums/images/%%GRAEMLIN_URL%%/thumbup.gif Maybe that's just because it works extremely well.

We emergencied it... Ford located one and Fed-Exed it to us a day later. The fuckin box was shreded and the pulley was beat up. WTF?

Keith don't feel like your the only one .

Every time I'm waiting for a part to come from UPS or FED-EX it either doesn't show up till 4:15 p.m or it looks like it was dragged behind the truck from the FAD /forums/images/%%GRAEMLIN_URL%%/flamethrower.gif

I did a CVIP (commercial vehicle) inspection on a 09 K3500 today... The Focus has more ground clearance than one of these POS' and the friggin' thing just kinda wallows down the road...

The way I see it is I drive freakin' truck.... why wouldn't I expect it to ride like one? Give one of these a try.... you'll think that the crap Ford decided on ain't so bad after all (Yeah, I liked the leaf spring trucks better, too.... but the coil spring trucks do turn tighter...).

I drove a customer's 06 F350 home for a couple days, 5.4 3v. That thing wouldn't get out of it's own way.

Pull into traffic, drop the hammer, and hope that you aren't gonna get ran up the ass.

Thing accelerated like it had 2.56 gears in it.
