stephen
working on a 03 6.0,had bad turbo(exhaust turbine fin broken).truck has p0046 hard fault/popping back through air filter also(on decell).turbo replaced under warranty PO5 out of warranty adjustment at dealer.checked vgt actuator solenoid wiring resistance/didn't do active command per diagnostic routine AK yet,but did try known good actuator solenoid and still hard fault is present. My question is-if there is another input sensor shorted or biased, will it cause the p0046 hard fault?I'll be back at it on monday for some further testing...any input will be appreciated.I'll post more vehicle info as I get into it.Thanks,Steve. stephen
I forgot to mention that p2263 pops up after driving, truck has had all recalls performed according to customer.p0046 doesn't appear when solenoid unplugged for KOEO selftest/always present in CONTINUOUS codes and KOER. Mekanik
I think I had a p0046 a little over a week ago. I put a VGT solinoid in it and it was fixed. Maybe yours needs a turbo cleaning too. Mine had a new turbo on it already, but it does not come with the VGT soliniod.
stephen
Finished repairing the truck this morning, found an intermittent short to ground on the control side of vgt solenoid wiring(black/blue wire).Harness rubbed through to one of the valve cover studs on the left bank...all is well in powerstroke land now.
