Tell us about your repower project- What type of vehicle is this going into? Are you sure you want to invest a large amount of time and money into a 6.0 repower?

Stupid question. WHY in the hell would you go to all that trouble and work to install an absolute piece of garbage engine like the 6.0L, if this vehicle was already equipped with the much more robust, not to mention RELIABLE 7.3L?

o dont get me wrong i love my 7.3l just thought it would be cool to try something diffrent besides alot of the problems that you have with the 6.0s can be avoided for instance head studs, egr block off and non vgt better turbo

You would need a donor truck to make the swap easier, as there are wiring harnesses, the fuel delivery module, fuel lines, fuel tank, etc., etc., that are different from the 7.3 to the 6.0. A donor truck with a good frame would be even better, as you would only have to mess with a cab and box swap, and all that entails, but that's only my /forums/images/%%GRAEMLIN_URL%%/2cents.gif

I am not now, or likely in the future thinking of getting a diesel truck. I would, however, take a 6.0 over a 6.4 any day. There are some interesting videos on u-tube from a guy who claims to be able to fix them up better than new. His website is http://www.powerstrokehelp.com and one of his videos can be seen at

I don't know him or exactly what he does to the 6.0 other than head studs, but he does have a point on the 6.0, that once you fix all the known failure points, you can have a reliable engine that will last for a long time. /forums/images/%%GRAEMLIN_URL%%/2cents.gif

Good point Bruno, I think the 6.0 has a lot of potential to be a strong long lasting engine once repaired properly. I've been looking for a newer truck to pull my 5th wheel and a 6.0 is looking pretty good at the moment.

came so close to getting an 06 6.0 truck engine off ebay for 650.00 with brand new heads cause the originals cracked above the cups but was outbid at the last minute so pissed
