snw blue by you
Replacing the HPOP on an 05 and the feed tube fitting that feeds the branch tubes has questionable wear. This truck has an intermittent no start w/ no ICP pressure w/ it happens. the IPR was replaced and it passed the air leak test hence the pump, but I do not like the wear on the tube, problem is I got the old style feed tube for 03/04 and there is no change in numbers on CPD OR HVBOM. Anyone got any help for me? Thanks, Stephen. /forums/images/%%GRAEMLIN_URL%%/shrug.gif
Keith Browning
I haven't had the pleasure of removing or replacing the high pressure pump since the new pump was introduced. I know that the cover is different but from photographs the discharge line looks the same. Is that the part you are talking about? Most of the high pressure system has been redesigned so I would imagine that the discharge tube has been too.
Jim Warman
I do know that the feed tubes were redesigned for 05. I have heard of a couple with cracking from vibration and *think* there was mention of updated tubes.... Sorry I can't be more help.
Keith Browning
Speaking of the feed tubes, the old thread in ones, did you ever have one that was so tight you thought it wasn't going to come out? I have twisted a few of them up so bad they looked like candy canes! The threads were undamaged and the new tubes screwed in nicely but man, what a bad feeling you get when that happens! snw blue by you
Sorry guys, what I meant was the quick disconnect fitting[Ford calls it the feed tube] that attaches to the HPOP and bolts to the branch tubes. Central parts came up with the correct number, but it took a couple of days, and from what I understand, Ford has it D99, and only 6 dealers in the country show the part. My parts manager is working on it for me, and I will post the number on Monday, because it is not correct in the system
