Mark_Moniz
Has anyone played with one? I just did one for someone, more power and mileage went up, I knew it would set a code for dpf below min threshold(p2002 p244a) I was thinking of "fooling" the dpf sensor into thinking it had min pressure to prevent regen. Any thoughts????

Jim Warman
In no small measure, we are "keepers of the public trust". That is to say that the vast majority of the public are depending upon us to keep everyones vehicles running in accordance with any and all laws that govern their mechanical operation... From how safe the brakes and steering are to how clean the crap coming out the tailpipe is.... this is part of what has been entrusted to us, part of the burden that we, as professionals, must carry. Alex Bruene
I've come to terms with the fact that most of our "friends" on those other web-sites have little to no respect for our environment... but I hope that isn't going to become a trend over here... Tony302600
We do work for a diesel performance shop and i strolled into it on friday to find a 6.4 with a complete exhaust from downpipe to dual exhaust on it. I was talking to the owner of the shop and he said that he tried to talk the guy outta it, but he wanted a DPF delete and cat delete exhaust system. He told me he can't even buy them, this guy found one. He also was telling me that he made the guy sign a legal document stating this was for off-road use only so if he get's caught, it wont fall back on him. This is the second one he has done, and second guy he tried talking out of doing it. But the gas mileage gain for these guy's is what they want. i can't wait to see how much gas mileage they will gain. The trucks get a custom tune because of the exhaust to turn off regen. Jim Warman
I don't know, Tony.... even after my doing sensibly thread, I'm still caught on the morality of emissions modifications.... We get caught up in that "anything for a buck" mentality that makes us look no better than a sleazy hooker.... FWIW, I've been tossing around the idea of going back out on my own (seems to happen after a particularly grueling day in the salt mines) and performance mods would most likely be on the menu... there's a lot of money to be had in the oil patch and few are scared to spend it.... And how's that for a moral conumdrum?
DwayneGorniak
/forums/images/%%GRAEMLIN_URL%%/scratchhead.gif Hmmm, and some folks think I'm crazy for loving the V10's. Look at what thes idiots spend on diesels just to show off. Most of these idiots just think they need a diesel because it has "Manly" written all over it. They spend $65,000 or $70,000 to start with and then they are disgusted with the fuel economy and maintenance costs. So then they go out and spend more money on cock pumps (lift kits) and steroid injections (programmers or chips) just to compensate for the size of something and the lackl of fuel economy, then they break shit and then complain when nobody wants to help them. As I've said before, the V10 is an engine that does not get near enough recognition. And it all start from sales department. Salesmen won't even offer it as an option because they make more money on diesels and they are all brainwashed into the diesel mentality as well. Don't get me wrong. There are needs for diesels out there, but being grocery getters, daily commuters to work for a few minutes every day, and being toy haulers on the weekends is definatley not good for these new diesels. $8,000.00 less for a V10, 17 or 18 MPG, less maintenace, easier on the front ends, not having to worry about carboning the hell out them, and less labour intensive and cheaper to fix. /forums/images/%%GRAEMLIN_URL%%/2cents.gif
Keith Browning
You don't even need a V-10 to get groceries. There is plenty of room on the right seat of my Smart Car for a case of beer and a few bags of vittles.
DwayneGorniak
No kiddin, the tank bag on my bike will hold eighteen beer. But you can't pull a travel trailer or a snowmobile trailer with either six sleds or quads on it with a smart car. Not only that, does the term "Smart Car" really suit some of these idiots? He think's its a stupid idea, but when it's slow, you gotta feed the shop and the kids. Very very intelligent guy, and awesome to work with.
