Keith Browning
If you crank the engine with the regulator plug out I would think that oil should gush out. Did you pull out the regulator valve from the bore and remove the oil pump gears when you inspected them?
flamesnbetty
YES TO ALL OF THE ABOVE, REGULATOR SLID OUT AND THE GEARS ON THE PUMP LOOK FINE NO GROOVES, HAVE SEEN A BAD PUMP BEFORE, LOOKS FINE. JUST A LITTLE OIL CAME OUT WHEN CRANKING WITH REGULAOR OUT. SO NO OIL IT WOULD HAVE TO BE THE PUMP OR PICKUP TUBE OR SOMETHING WERE MISSING, THANKS FOR THE QUICK REPLY. Jim Warman
We had a 6.0 with no base oil pressure - used the borscope through the drain plug hole to see what we could of the pick-up tube... wasn't great but it did help.
