Hempstead
I am installing a short block on a 06 F-550 and have everything swapped over or replaced execpt the oil pump. I am intalling a new oil pump but the bastard won't go in. Am I missing something? /forums/images/%%GRAEMLIN_URL%%/scratchhead.gif /forums/images/%%GRAEMLIN_URL%%/confused.gif
Mekanik
I have had a really hard time getting the front cover on a short block once. Make sure the 2 dowwels are in place, and there isn't a "extra" dowwel stuck in the front cover first of all. What I ended up doing is installing the front cover with all the bolts loose, and then putting the oil pump gears in the front cover. Then I torqued everything to specs. The first time I did it, I already torqued the front cover bolts and then went to put the oil pump gears in and they did not want to fit. I hope this helps.
