Our diesel sales manager is ordering a 09 f550 cab and chasis SDtruck. He came to see me about a new option in 09 that is called ENGINE IDLE SHUTOFF for 200$.He wanted to know what it was because he could not find any info in his sales books.I started to search my self and could not find the answer, i don't know if it,s a new term. or what. It,s available on automatic vehicle only. It,s not an idle controller either.Anybody heard of this option, i just can,t find anything,Thank you.

This feature does exist and it freaked me out when I first discovered it performing a PDI on a truck that just shut off while idling in the shop.

It was announced but I forget where and it was not an SSM though I did past it into an earlier post which also has the SVE bulletin which can tell you everything you would want to know. /forums/images/%%GRAEMLIN_URL%%/smile.gif

This feature is mentioned in the online manuals in the diesel supplement(listed in "other"). Not all 6.4's had this feature, so if it doesn't activate on one you are working on, that is why. /forums/images/%%GRAEMLIN_URL%%/2cents.gif

Not just California emission trucks all green state trucks including PA.I had a truck come in last week with the same complaint. The customer thought something was wrong with the truck and this feature was unknown to me at the time.I called hotline and the explained it to me.Its in pced somewhere under description and operation i think.
