Mekanik
Well how has it been lately? The economy seems to be getting even worse. There are several people in my neighborhood that have lost thier job or don't even know if they will have a job next week. I know one guy that has taken a 75% pay cut. It is pretty scarry. I'm just happy to have a job right now. I have to say that we are still doing good even though our dealer isn't selling many cars. We still have people coming in to get thier vehicles fixed. Nobody is really leaving early. How is everyone else doing?
Jeff_
Pretty slow here, no shortage of shit work that doesn't pay anything though.
BrunoWilimek
Not too bad here considering the time of year and financial crisis now going on. January 09 was better than January 08. No great jobs though, lots of warranty 6.0 work and waiter oil changes.
Keith Browning
I see the fare is the same almost everywhere. I have a lot of super sized shit sandwiches, not only for myself but plenty to dish out to my teammates. Ain't that right fellas?
Aaron
Busier than a sumbitch over here. (Truck shop, anyhow....)
Brad Clayton
Left today at lunch after standing around all morning. Went to an 18 wheeler shop and replaced an injector cup for them on a '99 F-550. A jobs a job right?
DieselD
been pretty dead the last 2 weeks here. Jan and first part of Feb was awesome. Now we are in a run and only a handful of vehicles coming in. I sit around til noon almost everyday before getting something to work on. at least we have a place to go to work with a chance of making some money. some people dont even have that right now. speaking of shit jobs I ended up cutting ebrake cable mounting off wrecked ambos we have here for a new stock unit the body builder screwed up and cut the bracket off. nothing like fabrication to start your day
LARRY BRUDZYNSKI
It's been ball-busting busy here. Machine shop is backed up, rebuild room is loaded and fuel shop is always busy(thanks to ULSD and water). As for shops around here no one is really busy but combined it makes us really busy. Alex Bruene
Swamped... can't keep up, and the work keeps coming. We're telling people we won't even open the hood for atleast a week, but they're willing to wait. Our business developement team has been working REALLY hard the past 6 months keeping us very busy with new fleets. All of our fleet customers get priority service, so they're atleast turned around pretty quick. The car shop on the other hand isn't doing quite the same. We try to offer them some of our overflow, but most of the techs. over there have HUGE chips on their shoulders about us making more per hour than they do, and like to decline to help... oh well. Gary_P
picking up more and more each day.........My truck shop is backlogged whereas my car shop is slower than average, but turning some good hours
ninja972r
I just about ready to go nuts from the lack of work.
Shlep
Aaron and I are so far behind it's not even funny anymore, even going so far as to start sending work to the "other" truck guy and just when we start to make head way 5 more trucks appear. The car guys are getting busier by the day, so all in all things are pretty good considering the shape of things around here. More and more plant closings and jobs cuts in the headlines everyday, makes one wonder how much longer this can go on.....
