dieseldoc
06' superduty. I am pretty sure the AUX is for hooking up a MP3 player or sattelite radio? Wondering how it works, the operators manual and workshop manual do not discuss this option or how to use it. I have a customer that came to me asking about this and he would like to use it. Thanks for the help guys
Aaron
Are you talkin about the 'AUX' button on the stereo head unit? Or are you talking about a jack in the dash? I'm not sure, but I don't think 06's had the jack in the dash like the 08's do. The AUX button on my 08 runs SAT1 SAT2 SAT3, then LINE IN on the display, for the input on the dash. Sorry, I know this isn't much help.
dieseldoc
I am talking about the AUX button on the head unit itself. The 06' does not have an AUX jack outside the dash that I could find. according to the operators manual it is "press to toggle between FES/DVD and AUX modes. If no auxilliary sources are available, NO AUX AUDIO will be displayed." It does not say anything else about it in the book that I could find. The audio section of the workshop manual doesnt tell you anything except how to remove the head unit and antennae. Maybe I am looking in the wrong place. Maybe I will have to call around to a few stereo shops and see what they have to say.
kridd12
That aux button is for a factory sattelite radio. have spent hours on the phone dealing with customers for this issue. there is the trip tunes thing you can get that will work with the aux button as well. not to sure about the price. I know it works for sure with the 07 model year but I am not 100% on the 06 model year. I don't think there is much of a difference.
