2 No Powers in the same day

Hey guys,

 

Pulled in two 06's both with no power, the first one had a code for underboost, and was no big deal. I went through the TSB and the truck ended up failing the VVT test. Pulled the turbo off and the unison ring was tight on the center housing. The second one had no codes, but going through the diagnosis, I followed the same TSB, and this one also failed the VVT test. The graph appeared much worse than the first truck's, but when I got the turbo off, the unison ring wasnt near as tight on the housing. Would I still be heading down the right track on the second truck with getting a center housing, or is there something else I should be looking at?

how does the housing look for as rust.more than likely i would put a whole turbo on. i am not favor on just center housing.
