Shlep
There used to be a TSB about an updated cold side CAC tube on the 05 and up 6.0 but I can't find it anymore. Does someone remember the part # or the TSB number?
Keith Browning
Do you mean the switch from metal to the plastic? It was Customer Satisfaction Program 05B29 http://www.forddoctorsdts.com/articles/article-05-14.php
DwayneGorniak
That would be TSB 05-22-3 for 2004 to 2005 Superduty and Excursion for changing up the plastic piece of crap tube to a real metal one. Hope that helps. By the way, I use this same kit on the 06 and 07's. Just don't charge the TSB. All I write in my story is that I replaced the tube. Of course this is when they either rub through on the air filter or blow a hole through on the plastic tube.
mchan68
IMO, the plastic style CAC tube never should've been released in the first place. Those things are a royal PITA to remove and install onto the adapters.
Shlep
Thanks Guys, thats the one I was looking for. I didn't realize it was a customer satisfaction program. Dwayne, you hit the nail on the head with what I had in mind for my 06. I hate that stupid plastic POS, like you said Mike it should have never been released..... Aaron
I like the "REPLACED CAC TUBE" idea Dwayne! Will have to remember that for our customers that have that shit tube.
dieseldoc
I dont have access to the service letters. Does anyone have the part numbers required to change over to the metal pipe and hoses? My personal 06' is showing signs of some chaffing. I coulnt believe it when I opened the hood and found a plastic tube. I have wanted to change it to a steel pipe and hoses. That plastic tube gets a little soft on a 100 degree day. One of our 550's in the summer you dont dare rest your arm on the hood because it will burn your arm.
