Charlie Thomas Ford - Autonation#2510

Houston, TX 77034

(713) 371-4120

HARR MOTOR COMPANY

WORCESTER, MA 01606

(508) 852-5111

COLONY FORD TRUCK

WARWICK, RI 2888

Thanks to Larry IIRC for previously mentioning the Partsvoice.com website, and I bookmarked it and registered. Its free so its not a bad thing to have handy for cases like that.

PartsVoice showed 3 stocking dealers, but I called them and all are showing zero. One said he had three calls this morning on it alone- DTS members?

Good luck.....

Edit: Were were running the same number and calling them at the same time.

Thanx Larry, and everyone else - we tried the same sources with the same result. Used is an acceptable option if we can't find a new one. I'll have Chris try to get a # off this thing... it is pretty corroded.

Are you able to deal with any Canadian dealers Keith?

The following dealers show it in stock:

George Stockfish Ford Sales in North Bay - 705-476-1416

Planet Ford in Brampton (right in my neck of the woods) - 905-451-1685

Terry Ortynsky Royal in Yorkton - 306-782-2261

Kennedy Ford Sales in Oakville Ontario - 905-845-1111

The list goes on, if you need more......

Keith, I went out to the warehouse. All of the housings I have use the E3TZ6A636H mounting gasket. I think thats not the right year. On the other hand I called my buddy over at Motor City, Rick told me he picked one up at the IH dealer and was the same. The number he got was a 1820653C1, there are plenty available my cost is @$60.00.

I was told that the entire assembly is available from International for less than the Ford part and it even comes assembled, thus saving the PITA job of pressing the thing together. Thus confirming the previous posting.

Yep, you're right Larry. After I read Bruce's post after mine, I realized it was him I had bookmarked Partsvoice from. Just had one of those moments where I wasn't exactly positive who I had heard of that site from and probably thought you first as you are usually our resident parts guru.

Also another call I got back from my local International dealer gave me a number 1814684C2 which should be the same as the F4TZ-6881-BA Keith was looking for, and they said they could not locate that one anywhere, and that would use the gasket F4TZ-6A636-A / 1831665C1 as well. Just thought I would mention that and see if theres anything else you can possibly find on it if either housing would work.

On edit: After finishing this post, then reading Brunos post, I continued reading my through my books and found a number for the International kit 1814682C93 that is preassembled as he said. I haven't called to check any availability of it yet however. HTH

So the International kit 1814682C93 is the entire assembly?

And to clarify Larry is this 1820653C1 the adapter I am looking for? Rear end cap with the oil filter fitting? I have an International dealer near us sooo that would be the best solution altogether.

Just got a call back, and the 1814682C93 shows "Order parts individually as needed." So its no longer available as a complete assembly.

Probably a good thing as far as Fords go. I'm pretty sure the front aluminum adapter housing is different on an IH chassis. I remember being able to get everything from IH for this except the front adapter housing and gasket (which is also Ford captive, IIRC). I've got some used ones, too, but I'm not sure if they're any good.

Sidebar- one of the parts guys I called this morning to check the F81Z-6881-BA PN didn't even let me get the PN out of my mouth. As soon as I said F81Z, he blurted out the rest of the number. He was obviously miffed at how many (DTS) people were calling all at the same time for the same PN. He's probably wondering WTF was going on.... Posted Image

Good Luck!

Maybe Keith should invite some of the parts guy's to join us. The more outlets the better. Good ones are getting harder to find.

How do you invite people you cant reach? This site gets members by word of mouth and the occasional invitation... I contact guys from FMC dealer that post thier e-mail adderess and they think this is some kind of trap. I really don't know what else to do.
