robp823
I have a 04 f-250 with an oil cooler failure.oil filled the whole cooling system.I see the tsb for the cleaning procedure. Are you guys following this step by step?
Keith Browning
Yes. You will likely need to use two TSB's: TSB 07-23-14 to repair the cooler and system and TSB 08-23-1 to address severe cooling system contamination. I would also contact the Hot-Line and review it with them and ask for further repair recommendations such as replacing ALL rubber hoses and testing the EGR cooler which may have been damaged as a result. I just finished up an oil cooler repair on a Econoline bus. One thing that made life easier was that I flushed the cooling system before disassembly getting the oil/coolant whip looser than it was. I used floor soap initially, then post repair I used the recommended 3 gallons of Simple Green and then another flush with the iron cleaner.
