08 F-450 (factory body/bed) No Crank

Have a guy traveling, got towed in, no crank. No codes in this thing, it has an edge display on the dash and they said they tried to take it back to stock.....FUCK ME.

Ran oasis, found some messages on connectors and chaffing, gonna check that stuff.

Just lookin for some insight here guys,

Called Edge, they had me disconnect the system at the PCM and at the VTG, and where they have the wires into the fuse box. Pulled that crap out and still no crank. I'm heading out to check the basics now (like power to the starter)

Did the customer try to take it back to stock after the no crank condition... or did this happen as a result of the EDGE device? Remember, the starter is controlled by the PCM via a relay on these trucks...

Have you tried starting it by jumping the single yellow with light blue striped wire, on the passenger side in the engine compartment, to B+ with the key on?

Ditto on that. It seems EGT_13 seems to be the more commonly failing item on these animals, causing a no-crank no-start condition.

Got it guys,

Just on a hunch I re-programed PCM (after pulling the edge stuff out) and it fired right up.

EDGE told me that they have been having "some" trouble with this problem.

Truck still have DPF/Cat on it?

I have heard some fairly negative things regarding Edge's DPF delete hardware.

Yea, suprisingly it did have the DPF/Cat on it, just a DPF back system (which is kind of stupid IMO, but thats me)

Speaking of edge products, We had an 08 f450 with just under 7k come in with the engine blown up. Had the edge programmer set to 5 when it came in. AND WOULD YOU BELIEVE FORD DECLINED THE REPAIR AND TOLD THE GUY IT WAS HIS FAULT AND TO FIX IT HIMSELF! Way to go Ford! The guy bought a 20000 drop in(parts and labor), apparently money is no object for him 'cause he paid cash, and then Ford reinstated his warranty since he removed the programmer.....OUCH!!!!

We had one like that here also. Truck only had 14000 miles on it and he blew the shit out of it racing it. Ford denied and he also paid cash to fix it. Cost him 24,000 to put the whole thing back stock.
