mrbudge
Does anyone have a link to the pictures of the driveshaft with the mattress wrapped around it? We need a good laugh here, and I can't remember where I saw it. Thanks.
LARRY BRUDZYNSKI
I googled it and it came up every where. As most of the posts stated how could you not notice.....I know To Busy.... http://blog.cardomain.com/2008/12/17/heres-why-you-should-never-run-over-a-mattress/

Aaron
I hit a mattress in my Suburban once on the 401 Highway near Guelph. Dragged that fucker for a mile and a half before it flew out. Moments before, I was laughing at the guy with the KIA in front of me - with the mattress on the roof, flopping around. And moments later, there it was. In front of me. mrbudge
Yeah, Google, why didn't I think of that. Anyway, we have a superduty 4x4 here with everything that runs in the left frame rail wrapped around the front driveshaft. They drove her until she wouldn't drive no more. Not as bad as the mattress, but you would think someone would have noticed something?

Brad Clayton
Looks like my mother-in-law could have been behind the wheel of that one. She wanted me to drive her Honda Civic to work and change the oil or something. I get 2 blocks from the house and I can barely get the thing into gear and or shift gears, then it's growlin like a son of a bitch on the highway. I get to work and check the trans fluid and it's bone dry and reaks of burned up parts. This is a car she drives everyday and puts on 300 miles a week, and she had no clue that there was a problem or something was out of the ordinary. BrunoWilimek
How in the FUCK did that happen?! This is the description I received with those pictures.: Think he had a "Vibration"?????? This guy ran over a mattress and decided to keep going. The ensuing jumble finally whipped around enough to put a tear in the gas tank, the subsequent lack of fuel is what finally brought this vehicle to its knees. It had still managed to drive 30 more miles decently with a 60lb tangle wrapped around the driveshaft. This genius complained that the vehicle had a "shimmy" when driving at high speeds. This is what the dealership found..............
Aaron
Yeah, Google, why didn't I think of that. Not as bad as the mattress, but you would think someone would have noticed something? This is what I was asking about, I think I've heard the mattress story before. Same customer that says "Well, it's only flat on the bottom!" after driving several hundred miles on the RIM.
mrbudge
Looks like there were some 'accessory' wires running along the left frame that had a little too much slack. When the driveshaft grabbed them, the fuel lines, brake lines, and everything else went with them. Quite a mess, and insurance company wants used parts to fix.
