Aaron
Guy across from me does balljoints on a 2004 F250 or 350 4x4 today. Looks it up in the SLTS. Pays 2.6 hours to do all four. How come an 05/06/07 pays 4.2 do to the same job? (Note: there is no operation 3049AT listed for a 2008, the closest thing I can find is R&I knuckle assembly, for 4.2 also) What's different in an 04 that makes it that much easier? I'm just curious, I really don't know why.
mchan68
'99 to '04 style hub seals are easier to reinstall. '05 and up are impossible to remove without destroying.

Jim Warman
Re-use hub seals? Using the 2003 F350 WSM as a guide, R&R ball joint will, eventually lead us to 204-01B Steering Knuckle R&I. Step 8 in installation reads <Install the new main seal onto the axle shaft>.

The only 99-04 hub seals that I don't destroy upon removal are those that have been recently replaced(as in I forgot to replace something and have to take it apart a second time). Aaron
Final Notice IS part of my address. I change the seals every time, becuase if the 4x4 don't work when I'm done - it gets fixed for free. Jim - I haven't looked, but can you claim the knuckle op-code with the balljoint op-code?
