fabfoes87
Had the chance to use BG's new headlamp restore kit on a 98 merc. mystique. Upsold the service and was the first in the shop to do so. Read instuctions and began. I was some what apprehensive when the kit told me to wet sand the headlamp with 400 grit, but I carried on. After about 5 minutes of sanding and cleaning, cleaning and sanding, I was done and the results were great. Just wondering if anyone has used this kit and what they thought? Thanks guys. partsmanBB
We have had the kit here for a couple months-done a few employee's cars so far, but no retail jobs. Seems to work pretty well, if you put the time into it. Much cheaper than replacement lamps, anyways...
LARRY BRUDZYNSKI
What kind of dollars for the kit??? I've seen the Meguiars kits running @ $20-$25. They all seem pretty good but I have used Meguiars products for many years and have been satisfied with their products.
fabfoes87
A little steep. I think the shop is selling the kit for around $40, and the service for around $80.
Keith Browning
$80 is still a lot cheaper than new lamp assemblies. My dealer started selling those a month ago too. I haven't done any but I watched the demo and it actually turned a foggy lens clear and shiny
Brad Clayton
Photos of car in subject. Left side done compared to original "fogged" right side.
BrunoWilimek
My only concern is how long the shine lasts. We have used a kit made by Canbuilt here for a few years and initially, it does an amazing job of removing the cloudiness but, after a year or so, the lens looks just as bad as before. Aaron
If I had suspenders on, I would do the big-city-lawyer demonstration. But I'm sitting here in shorts an' a tshirt. So. That being said. Seeeeems to me, the only engine available in a late 60's Z-28 was the 302CI (Rated 290hp) small block V8. HOWEVER. If one was to order option COPO 9560.... You got a ZL-1 car. Just pullin' ya leg Larry.
LARRY BRUDZYNSKI
Your right Aaron...Sorry but you get my drift...Heads not right right now. Hey Knock sensor answered my buddys vette problem we talked about the other day, it was reading resonance from the exhaust and retarding the timing. He wrapped and insulated the sensor, no more problems. Thanks

Plastic H/L's require care as well as your paint....Take care of your equipment and it will take care of you....That may be true, but the original lens kept its clarity for a lot longer than the shine restorer returned it. I was wondering if the difference was in the brand of treatment or if they were all basically the same and only a short-term solution. If so, I would be more inclined to sell a replacement lamp than a short-term band-aid shine. The customer may be happy when the shine is back, but not so happy if it only lasts a short time. Keith Browning
This product is something your used car dept. could benefit from. These days with used cars being more valuable than ever clearing up those headlights can make an okay used car sparkle a little not to mention passing inspection. In NJ you can fail DMV inspection if the lenses are too funky. I would guess that most other states are similar, no?
Bruce Amacker
Only if they have a safety inspection, and many/most states don't.

Brad Clayton
Cool, I lucked up by getting that vanity plate from New Hampshire. I was walking thru the showroom and this lady was trading her 'Stang in for a brand new one.
Aaron
You guys don't transfer your vanity plates over? I guess that one wouldn't really matter, due to the text on that plate, but still. They are $240 here.
Brad Clayton
In New Hampshire there is no sales tax. So to make up for the lost revenue, they stick to ya in other areas. One being yearly vehicle registration. If you look at the sticker in the corner, the plate has expired and it is trash after that.
