This part number changes up as follows in HvBOM:

Replacement Chain For 3C3Z6477AA

SERVICE PART REPLACED BY MTRCRAFT QTY COMMENTS

3C3Z6477AA 3C3Z6375BA 1

3C3Z6379CA 10

4C3Z7550BARM 1

5C3Z7563A 1

5C3Z7563A 7C3Z7550C 1

4C3Z7550BARM 7C3Z7550C 1 USE W/ SINGLE-MASS FLYWHEEL ONLY

7C3Z7563A 1 USE W/ SINGLE-MASS FLYWHEEL ONLY

5C3Z7563A 7C3Z7563A 1 USE W/ SINGLE-MASS FLYWHEEL ONLY

Can one of you parts gurus clarify this for me please? As I understand it, it's telling me this particular vehicle is equipped with a dual mass flywheel, that requires being replaced with a single mass unit. What I am unsure of, is if there is a clutch kit that can be purchased to make it less expensive? Vehicle in question is a 2003 F-350 with ZF 6 speed, manual 4WD. Better yet, here's the VIN:

1FTWW33P43EC97252

Thanks in advance

Okay, to try to make things less confusing, what I'm trying to achieve, is to price out a clutch "kit" for this vehicle, which comes out substantially less expensive than ordering all those pieces individually. However, when you attempt to look up a kit for a 2003 model year, a message comes up in Microcrap that clearly states "no clutch kit offered for 2003 model year vehicles". BUT, when you load up a newer model year vehicle (ie a 2006), I come up with a 3C3Z-7L596-EA "kit" which includes a 7548, 7550, 7563 and 7600. Yet, when you break down all those parts to individual part numbers, it comes up to the same part numbers I'm getting in HvBOM in the original post. That being said, my question is, can I still use the "kit" despite the fact that Microcrap tells me otherwise, when I load the VIN in to look it up?

Mike, I think you just answered your own question. After you broke down the 7L596 kit and came up with the same part numbers on the list it's obvious that Ford does offer the kit just hasn't updated its database. I would double check your numbers and print off the list to CYA, just in case there are questions that come up.

From my notes (which are old):

Replacement DMF flywheels are not available and have been updated to a flat flywheel. (SSM) Make sure you order 10 flywheel bolts for a late ’04 because the SSM doesn’t mention this!

Dual mass flywheel 3C3Z-6477-AA is replaced by:3C3Z-6375-BA,

3C3Z-6379-CA along with the newer style clutch.

I'll chime in late on this one (after you already have your answers). Yes, Mike, that kit works with the new 6379 bolts-not too many people seemed to enjoy buying a $1200 flywheel, so it had to be done. By the way-nice job on coming up with those numbers with microcat-I know some fulltime parts people who couldn't pull that off. Do you have to look up all your own parts, or do you just prefer to be sure yourself?

Another add-on: If you don't mind using aftermarket suppliers, Luk clutches makes some top quality stuff at very reasonable prices. We were a beta test station for them and installed flat flywheel conversions in the 90's YEARS before they hit the street. Luk has an engineering dept. about 2 miles down the street from my shop where the tech support phone calls got answered.

Really great stuff, and reasonable- I'd bet it's $500 less than FMC for the clutch/flywheel kit!

PS Their website and catalog have a lot of GREAT tech tips.

Good Luck!

Thanks. We're very short-handed at our store. With that in mind, it is generally quicker for me to look up and order my own parts myself. My manager is pretty good with keeping the "frequently moved" parts in stock.
