Bruce Amacker
"On the AE"- Are you referring to Auto Enginuity? If so, sometimes AE gives bogus or non-existent codes. Is there another scan tool you can try, preferably an NGS or IDS? Good Luck!
korg70kbc
it would be nice, but there are no GOOD mechanics, including my dealer, within 50 miles of here. I have some serious issues going on & am freaking out. what are the possibilities if a mechanic was working on my fuse panel & decided to pull the pcm to get the fuse panel/gem out, and he didn't disconnect the batteries then he forgot to put the grounding screws in, could that fry my computer? ever since he did that & I noticed (about 2 mths later) there were no screws, I put them back & the truck started shifting better, but now all kinds of systems have gone haywire. I realized at the time, that the gem being in control of so many things, I decided to wait & come check the forums to see if it had to be programmed, or calibrated as I now know. I;m worried that no matter what I fix, it may not help until I replace that & the GEM, which was being replaced due to 1 touch down relay had no power into it. so I decided to replace not only the fuse panel, but the gem as it was attached. thanks for your help. soooo many things wrong & I am broke till my state remembers to pay me & I am currently hitting up all the forums to find a good mechanic to tow the truck too oh, BTW, I have your book, OMG, it has helped soooooo much, esp the parts for the fuel pressure test which 3 mechanics couldn't figure how to get until I found the $5 in parts.!!!
