Burger I had tonight. All I can say is WOW.

[*]2 - 10 oz ground rib eye patties

    [*]4-5 Onion Rings

[*]3 slices Mild to Old Cheddar

    [*]6 Strips of Bacon

    [*]Bun, top and bottom

    [*]BBQ sauce

    [*]Tomato

[*]Lettuce (which I picked off, I ordered a BURGER, not a SALAD)

Best damn hamburger I have ever had.

Back in the late 70's, in the small town of Killam, Alberta - there was a small not a drive in - not a road house - not a restaraunt... it was very much "there"...

Featured were the "Killam Burger" and the "Four Wheel Drive".

I was never brave enough to sample the latter. The Killam Burger, however, hung over the sides of a 9 inch sandwich plate...

That covers humoungous burger... which did taste good but not orgasmic.

Peters Ice Cream is STILL a landmark in Calgary. It has been far too long but, even back in the 60s, this was the place that could feed you a burger to die for. This would be a burger that would make you stop and think "tail? - meat? - tail? - meat?". Not a large burger... honestly, it's size was quite unremarkable.. However - as far as gut bombs go, this would be a solid 27 on a scale of 1 to 10.

Years ago, back when merchants offered good products rather than high profit margins - all of our cows were grain fed... most of our fruits and veggies were grown organically - and the rest of our fruits remained in the closet...

  • 4 weeks later...

Looks damn good, but my arteries are hardening just by looking at it. But I'd eat that fucker anyway!

Bacon and more bacon, lots a cheese, onion rings all slapped on a beef patty. Damn, I think I'm gonna barbecue tomorrow and try to copy that.
