mchan68
Can anyone come up with the correct part number for this pulley illustrated below? Pulley diameter is about 2-3/4" with a spacer behind it approximately 1" long. Thanks in advance.
LARRY BRUDZYNSKI
Mike, is this a tow truck or anything with a belt driven PTO? If it is chances are that the body builder installed it. If not can you expand on the vehicle information for me?

If not can you expand on the vehicle information for me?I'll try to dig up the VIN for you. All I know so far, is that this is a dual alternator equipped truck, WITHOUT the second alternator installed. Customer states that there IS aftermarket equipment installed independently of the factory front end accessory drive. Last night the parts manager and I tried looking through HvBOM and every possibility listed in Microcrap without success.
BrunoWilimek
If all else fails, Mike, and the pulley itself is not damaged, you may be able to press out the bearing, match up the number on it and just replace the bearing. I have done this on several pulleys that were not available locally, yet the bearing was. Of course, if pulley is damaged, this will not work. mchan68
Not that it matters, but the VIN is 1FTWW32P14EE06754.
Aaron
With that spacer on it it kinda looks like an aftermarket gizmo. Is it in the main (factory) drive belt routing?

Is it in the main (factory) drive belt routing? That's what I was thinking too. According to the customer, it IS part of the factory drive belt routing. Aaron
You don't have the truck on site? See if customer can bring vehicle or picture of the accessory drive.
Brad Clayton
Quote: According to the customer, it IS part of the factory drive belt routing The only thing I want to know from the customer, is when it happens, what happens, how long has it been happening, ect. When it comes to whats actually on the vehicle, customers dont know a fuckin thing about it, unless they built the thing for cryin out loud. This customer is pullin your chain, Mike. There's no way that this customer can say without a shadow of a doubt that that pulley came on the truck from the factory. You've worked on a ton of these, and I'm sure as I to, have never seen this pulley from the factory. Seen alot of them that look like that, that have aftermarket PTO setups though. I would consider finding out what the aftermarket setup is and seeing if they have a phone number, if all else fails with the bearing I.D. LARRY BRUDZYNSKI
Mike, Do you have a body builder that your sales dept uses? Usually they can identify the pulleys. If not send me the pulley and I'll find the correct one for you.
partsmanBB
I have run into this several times here with one of our fleet accounts (we are right up the street from ESPN world headquarters, and they have a million buses and trucks). It's never easy, but the Dayco and Gates websites have good listings with clear pictures, maybe you can match something up. You sometimes have to make a bit of a guess, but it may work out--hope this helps.
