Got an 07 f-450 that bucks and jerks. The only codes in it were a p0528,p0148, and p1705.My p0148 keeps coming back.Anyone ever get this DTC before???Fuel Delivery error??This is the first time ive seen it.Watching pids everything looks normal except when it happens ficm sync goes to no.Fuel filters are good and fuel pressure is in spec with the valve on the tester open.

Does it buck and jerk at a certain RPM? Will it do it in neutral in the stall? How about unplugging the fan and the alternator?

I had one that kicked me too - had to scope the lines between the FICM and the PCM and finally found the PCM making the square wave CMPO too long at times. The FICM didn't know what to do with that signal so FICMSYNC turned to No and the engine started to jump around in the engine compartment... There is a thread on here about it....

Ok well after resistance checking and load testing all the powers and grounds to the FICM and also the communication circuit and finding nothing wrong.I had an excursion in the bay next to me so for the hell of it i swapped FICM's and problem solved.

We have a known good test FICM here also....it's brand new, so if it fixes the problem, it get's left in the truck and gets replaced by the new one from parts....only have to program it once that way! Posted Image

I recommend in all of my classes that the techs keep a known good IDM and FICM on the shelf for test purposes. If you can't find one easily, www.car-part.com has used ones for $100 or less.

Good Luck!

Would you believe my parts department quoted a customer $780 for a USED 7.3 IDM?

Yeah. Customer found his own from some place in the states - that was that "DG systems" one or whatever the fuck it was I called you about. Claims he paid $251USD for it.

All I know is it's on the truck. My warranty's over.

He gets what he pays for, just like the customers that go to the quicky oil change places that pay the lube "TECHS" cheap. You pay $8.00 hr to these guys and you get $8.00 worth of experience.

Watch he'll be back and pissed at you when it takes a shit. Please keep us posted when he does.... Posted Image
