LARRY BRUDZYNSKI
Hey guys got a 6.0 in the shop with bad heads. Have ordered in 12 so far all have been warped. Has anybody else had this many coming through the shop?
HGM
hmmmm, not to imply anything, but are they being measured right?? The book is a little missleading.. If I remember right, it should be .004" over the distance of the head or .002" over 6"(might want to double check that).. As much at somee guys hate the hotline, they can help with this too, they've become quite familliar with it.. Do the new heads still have the "X" over the exhaust ports? This was an indicator that they were checked for flatness.. Again, not picking on anyone, just sounds strange...
Keith Browning
Quote: Again, not picking on anyone, just sounds strange... Same here but, considering the number of diesel trucks my dealer sells and the number of head gaskets/heads some guys are reporting to have replaced I find it really odd that I have only done TWO. A third was sent away with his performance mods - he fooled another dealer and got them done then traded the truck in. My fourth is currently sitting right behind me with the cab in the air waiting for me to dig in.I have yet to measure a warped head myself. What sucks for me is that we have replaced 15 engines so far. Fortunately that problem has disappeared and we have not replaced any in some time now. (looking for some wood to knock on) Just checking in. /forums/images/%%GRAEMLIN_URL%%/laugh.gif
LARRY BRUDZYNSKI
Across the entire head .008-.010 on all of the heads. None of them have the "x" above the exhaust ports. I would have thought that this problem would have been addressed better than it has.

To my knowledge(unless they quit doing it) the "X" should have been there on any head since ???November??? I think..
