Keith Browning
I could swear I read an SSM or something about replacement Glow Plug Control module connectors being available for repair... something related to heat damage. I need a part number for both the black and green connectors or pigtails. Connectors C1273a and C1273b These are NOT in the Motorcraft pigtail kit charts. LARRY BRUDZYNSKI
Keith I just seen that listing somewhere, give a few minutes to chase my web history. Keith, I think this is what you want. I seen it in TSB 04-17-13. The way I'm reading it it looks like both connectors come in the kit. 4C3Z12B568AA
Keith Browning
Both the Ford Technical Service Hot-Line and the parts Hot-Line came up empty handed. We were told to replace the harness if the GPCM connectors require replacement. Of course I spent time lookng for, and found this and making this post without realizing Larry had also found it. Thank you Larry. See? I am NOT crazy. There are people who disagree but I knew this TSB was out there! TSB 04-25-04 2000-2003 F-SUPER DUTY/EXCURSION AND 2000-2004 E-SERIES: HARD START OR NO START - 7.3L SOME 7.3L VEHICLES EQUIPPED WITH THE GLOW PLUG CONTROL MODULE (GPCM), MAY EXHIBIT A HARD START OR NO START CONDITION. THIS MAY BE DUE TO THE GPCM CONNECTOR. A NEW GPCM CONNECTOR SERVICE KIT, AVAILABLE FOR THE 6.0L ENGINE, CAN NOW BE ADAPTED TO THE 7.3L ENGINE. See TSB for complete details EFFECTIVE DATE: 12/03/2004 The part number is in the TSB - 4C3Z-12B568-AA Now I need to find out if this part number is still good and if it is available. I assume that the kit contains only one connector and if I recall it is only available in black. I attached the TSB below.

Aaron
Yeah I was just gonna say, didn't you get 'em for a 7.3 Nice find Larry!
Bruce Amacker
I remember it as being quite pricey, too, but it's still got to be cheaper than a harness. See if you can get a cost on it.
Keith Browning
Ordered one today... coming out of Memphis so I wont see it until tomorrow afternoon. Now I am off to inform the Hot-Line of this information. Thank you for the TSB number Larry, that one addresses the 6.0L specifically and for some reason it never came up on OASIS. I also added the TSB file with the other attachments above.
GregH
The TSB was applicable up to 2004. If the VIN was for an '05 or later, it wouldn't show up in OASIS. The kit is nice. Both connectors with pigtails, barrel crimps and heat shrink in one box. Just put one on an '06 bucket truck Friday. I used the AMP crimper in the Motorcraft wire splice kit, and carefully used my big wire crimper for the two large wires.
Keith Browning
Greg while I was in the process of searching for these connectors I ran OASIS on an older VIN thinking I might find it that way, and I did! If you read through this entire thread you should have picked up on the fact that there are two TSB's, the first was applicable to 7.3L equipped vehicles and the second to update and add the 6.0L applications. While researching this I had contacted the Hot-Line, I commented that this needed to be updated and they agreed, sending the information to another department for review. Maybe we will see an updated TSB to include all 6.0L vehicles through 2009 Econolines. BTW the repair was successful.
joshbuys
Why not include the 6.4 in this? I haven't seen any issues yet, but I'm sure I WILL! Same connectors!
Aaron
Probably because you'll need to take the cab off to service the harness LOL

I'll have to update my Hot-Line contact form
