How about a '10 MKT... the My Lincoln Touch is sometimes untouchable. Has a very intermittent no crank - appears to have comm issues with the PCM when this happens.

Previously it had issues with the adaptive cruise and the traction control... those haven't returned since the last time harnesses were manipulated... Posted Image

A guy (electrical genius) I used to work with had an '09 Edge that had one of the CAN wire terminals at the IC crimped to the shielding, it touched the wire, but would intermittently drop everything and have a no crank...worth a look anyway if you're dropping the CAN.

Kenworth T800 that blew interaxle driveline breaking airlines this evening that I just got home rescuing them off the side of the road, then after removing driveline proceeded to blow the power divider while driving home.. 07 Pete 379 to install a blower and PTO and fab all hard lines/brackets.. Pete 379 with a broken condensor and about 12 other HD trucks to look at the A/C systems and repair/recharge as necesary for a fleet.. Volvo with Detriot 60 series no start.. 7.3 with cracked injector cups.. a 6.0 needing 2 injectors.. GMC Yukon with a blown rear ring gear carrier and damaged R&P.. and another truck that needs a new 7.3.. Nothing like running 12-15 hour days lately to try and catch up, vacations sounding pretty damn good in a few weeks.

One pin fell out of the BJB for the left bank glow plugs. It's warranty so I get to replace the entire engine bay harness.

Other than a few scrapes, it's not so bad.

Brad, the mountaineer has the #10 low intermediate sun gear bearing cracked and wore into the case. Those were pieces of the case I found in the bottom of the pan. The sealing surface for the output hub shaft seal is all messed up as a result.

Also one of the planets in the overdrive gearset is worn completely out. #12 bearing is damaged as a result. Overdrive servo bore is worn nicely too

Stick a fork in it, it's done

did an STC in an 06 to get it running, tomorrow it's getting 3 injectors and dummy plugs. a 6.4 that I'm suspecting needs a high pressure pump, possibly fuel system if it's scattered. I can't remember the last time I had to do 2 no start trucks at once, our other guy is just as backed up

That must be in bay number "3".

Actually, that is "lift number 3". Not enough techs regard their personal safety with enough importance. We have numbered each lift and have an inspection sheet (that, sadly, is only half heartedly administered) that must be filled out once per month.

Having mentioned "halheartedly administered", I feel the need to mention that if a tech is using a hoist that has a defect and he doesn't report it - or, worse yet, doesn't bother looking for it - the preponderance of the culpability will be on his shoulders.

I see it every day... some youngster wearing nitrile gloves hoping to avoid carcinogens working under a hoist that is both poorly positioned under the vehicle and doesn't have the safety dogs "set".

It isn't war or pestilence or famine that will kill us all... it is cavalier attitudes.

Did a stc and dummys yesterday, started a 6.7 turbo today. The other tech hydrolocked a 6.4 in the parking lot and bent a rod

Diesel work has been very steady lately, kinda out of the norm. We really don't have the room for it.
