nunan
hey, i have a really simple question that i cant answer and feel like an idiot because i cant figure it out/find it online. how the hell do i get the disc brake assembly off of a 97 f250 4wd? i've never worked on this kind of axle, and it seems like all i need to do is take off the retainer nut but nothing i've got here/bought kits has the correct socket. i found the part # for it on fmc but, can not find it on rotunda. i'm extremely confused. Thanks Chris
Jeff_E
The socket I just grabbed out of my box that I think I used on my last F250 of that generation is a 2 3/4 inch thinwall hub socket OTC #6796 CLICK HERE
BrunoWilimek
The Ford tool number is T95T-1197-B which crosses up to 205-349 and looks the same as the OTC #6796 indicated by Jeff_E. It is a 2 3/4 inch socket.
BrunoWilimek
That is the one for auto locking hubs. For manual hubs, the tool listed is D85T-1197-A, which is a spanner locknut wrench that crosses up to 205-D065.

Keith Browning
Chris, please stop up at Warnock and borrow my socket. Dan is using it on a truck that we are waiting on seals for but once he gets it together you can use it so maybe stop in later in the day or at least come by and look at it and see if it is what you need. I have several of these sockets... For crying out loud! I could probably throw the damn thing and reach your shop.
