gasgasman
Is there any possibility of Ford using the on board hour meters for warranty repairs? The reason I ask is, we work on a ton of wreckers that sit all day idling under the overpasses. Then they come in with the egr system coked up and have it covered under warranty. Here in Houston we do have a law that prohibits idling for more than 5 min. /forums/images/%%GRAEMLIN_URL%%/eek.gif
Keith Browning
That is a pretty interesting contention. Doing something like that would likely require certain specific circumstances and would have to allow some leeway. I had a pick-up in from a Honda dealer that used the truck for a security/plow vehicle. You know, running all night with someones feet on the dash and rolls off the lot once a night to hit Mickey-D's or Wendy's. With about 4000 miles on it I found a clogged EGR and the cat converter was plugged solid. After doing the math, the hour meter indicated around 32000 miles. chad
How is the calculation done from hours to miles?
Keith Browning
The official Ford spec/calculation is 1 hour = 33 miles
