Mbl35
I took a front cover out of the box and found cavitation in the oilpump housing, tiny pourus holes all around. Anyone ever see this before?

fergy12
I had a 6.0 front cover out of the box that had grooves from the 9 olock position to the 12. Almost like it wasn't machined deep enough. The water pump fit in fine but i refused to use it, and the next replacement i got was good. Jim Warman
Dwayne and I hhave mentioned it to each other now and again... not front covers, specifically, usually more of cylinder head/block deck surfacing. I look at some of the marks and "inclusions" and shake my head... back in the stone ages, we would never see some of this crap... But... I guess if you don't cast any extra metal into one spot (even a critical area) or another, you don't have to pay to remove it during machining.
