Keith Browning
Anybody have any experience resealing rear engine covers on these? We pulled the transmission on one and replaced the seals and rear main and discovered that putting the cover on it pushes the middle of the pump cover gasket inward. This results in a bigger oil leak. We tried installing the cover like you would a 6.0L but for some reason shoving the top up in first and bringing the bottom up and in does not work well. Jonathan302
This is a PITA ... I found a way that a really save headake for me:) Push out the 2 dowel until they are flush with the cover(gasket side). Install the cover and install loosely the monting bolt. I put 2 bolt with 3 washer on each bolt over the dowel. Tighten evenly the cover until it make contact with block, not to tight. Then i push the 2 dowel until they go in the block with the bolt and washer. Torque the cover monting bolt and remove the bolt and washer. The fuel pump gasket will be like you never remove the cover with this way. I have done a tons of these leaker this way with no failure. I do the 6.0 the same way. Just use care whe you push the dowel(use hand tool not air) and you will be fine. Hope you understand me well

Keith Browning
Here Brad, I got your back! It seemed like the dowels were causing the problem according to the tech doing this. I can't remember what the cover looks like since the last one I had off was an engine, did not look at this one close up. I guess when we get the cover back off we will work this out. Thanx! My ass still hurts after every time I do one and get the ole SLTS royal fucking. After MY latest hooping with the one I short-blocked I'm seriously thinking about telling any 6.4L owner to FUCK OFF and don't bother me. Thanks to this latest hooping, this month and Christmas holidays are literally a complete write-off for me. I just lost almost two weeks pay on my mess.
