Just a poll, but what is everybody using to catalogue thier esst tools? We were / are still using the book with the pages that come with the tools, but found none in these new ones. We called rotunda and they said they no longer make them, we are on our own.

Truth be told that crate was sitting in the shop for a couple of weeks where our parts delivery crates and large shop equipment gets left. I went looking tor the tools when I read this thread. Sometimes the peeps I work with are oblivious or just too busy to remember everything that gets piled upon their desks... like the packing slip and invoice. IF I didn't go looking ot would probably still be sitting there.

Diesel tools go under my workbench as it's been decided that lugging that shit up and down a flight of stairs is a bad idea for me with me being all crippled up.

That EGR cooler testing setup looks pretty cool! An the funny thing is, it's really NO money for that whole kit, I think the book said about $200?

Can Keith or someone with a decent camera (this eliminates Grampa) shoot a couple of pictures of the tool kit and post or send them to me? If the pics don't include the TKIT PNs I'll need those, too. If the kit's that cheap, I'll buy it from Rotunda.

Thanks!

We use a spreadsheet to mind our tools (Micro$oft Excel) along with a wee bit of ingenuity.

Something that is pretty much unbeatable, however, is available HERE . Many of us have met the person responsible for this proggie.... pretty much unimpeachable as far as I'm concerned...

FWIW... scroll down the page and check out the "downloads" too.

I bought a new camera... neener-neener....

However.... it isn't A "tool kit"... it IS "tool kitS". I still haven't had much time for spelunking but what I have seen is indicating a certain amount of change in a techs life...

As with any redesign/rethink/re-applied technology... we appear to be on the cusp of another dinosaur creating event.

At one point, Kieth had mentioned "separating the men from the boys" in terms of required skills.... these days we may take that as "separating the men from their 'nads...".

I firmly believe that (with the 6.7 and the 6.2 and the ecoboost) we are truly entering the next phase in regards to our idea of personal transportation. I used to wonder what the future would be like.... and now I am living in it.
