..Have a 05 f-440 with intermitent no crank very hard to duplicate. It seems to have a pause when turn key to start. Most time starts somtimes nothing. Checked everything I could think of. Customer just purchased truck and has no clue what this key fob that has "identity" written on it(it has a button and a red light when pressed it changes nothing). Thought it was some sort of security thing but a can not find anything hooked into the wiring. Anyone seen this type of key fob?

Does the truck start with the keyfob in someone's pocket that's nowhere near the truck?

I'm wondering if it has nothin' to do with the truck, and maybe for something else the previous customer had?

Weird, thats for sure, especially since you can't find anything tied into the wirin anywhere

With the help of Michel from TX, I Looked at the stater relay, it had a wire comming out of it, receiver wire. Identity fob emmits a siginal that enables the identity starter relay to work.

New relay-- works great!
