cbriggs
Has anyone priced a 6.4l complete recently? I beleive retail is nearly $24,000, with our cost coming in around $14,500 ( core value removed). On the engine i recently replaced there was an envelope, with an invoice from navistar to ford motor company of canada. It was for 11 6.4l engines, the price per unit is $7378.00 . Wow, 100% markup to dealers, seems a little excesive?
DwayneGorniak
I have gotten a couple of engines with those same invoices. And they wonder why Why warranty costs"LOOK" like they're through the roof. Have you noticed that the prices of short blocks has gone down though? It's like they are trying to push nothing but short blocks lately.

cbriggs
A brand new 5.4l 3v short block is like $600 with the core removed. Ridiculous. Now the heads ont the other hand....
Aaron
Put a 2v 5.4 in a purolator van a couple years back. Purolator's cost on the motor was like $12-1600 for a long block.
