eastendpowerstroke
I have an opportunity to buy a used VCM from a dealership that closed but the software subscription is expired. Has anybody bought a used VCM and did you have any issues renewing the software subscription?
Bruce Amacker
Beware! Take the VCM SN and call Rotunda to see if/when it expired. Here's the deal- if it's expired, your new subscription starts with the expiration date, not today's date. I have two VCMs and I let one expire in May 2009. I renewed it in October 2009, and guess what my expiration date is? May 2010. They'll tell you over then phone pretty quickly at 1-800-rotunda. It's $500/yr to keep it current, or get it current. Good Luck!
eastendpowerstroke
I know for sure it's expired it belongs to a former coworker/now former dealer tech, he got a job with the railroad and since locomotives don't use Ford PCMs he has no more use for it. I can get the whole pds/vcm real cheap. I gotta see if my new shop will pop for the subscription if I buy it.
