Mekanik
My latest project is to install a motorized step in a 2010 Econoline that is a brand new vehicle that will be used to transport handicapped people. The step is from Kwikee, and it is a 3 step design. There are no instructions in the box, but I was able to find some information on an instalation kit from the same company for installing on Econolines. I wanted to get a hold of some one there, but the phone number is not any good. Is there anyone here that has installed one of these steps in an Econoline, or has info on how to install it? Keith Browning
http://www.kwikee.com/Adocuments.html#steps Has installation, parts and operation guides for their products. If you don't see what you need you can always click on their contact link and ask them directly for the the straight poop on installing a Kwikee step! Mekanik
Keith, I saw an installation kit for Ford vans, but I'm not sure if it's the right one because I'm not sure if the step I have is the correct 'series'. I would assume it is because it's the only one listed but you know what happens when we assume. The only contact information I found was a phone number that is no good. My parts guy is like, "just make a bracket. " Yeah no problem, let me just whip one right up. They are pissed because the last guy that installed a step had to make his own bracket and it took him 24.0hrs. Maybe one of the reasons it took so long was because he didn't have an installation kit.
