One of two hands on exercises today was to remove the turbocharger and the "shim gasket" was truck to the block. I stuck my hand down in the valley to touch something on the fuel pump and I cut myself bad on the gasket... the engine drew blood!

The guys in today's class broke the plastic nipple on top of the DEF injector. You should have finished today, right- but if you didn't, be careful R&Ring the DEF injector for the flow test. The liquid line nipple on top is somewhat fragile. No problem, they'll have it in stock in the parts dept.......!

We were warned about that and I did not break it. Supposedly at the instructors training there were quite a few broken SRC injectors. Now, do ya THINK they might do something about that since they see it happening at such a high rate?

Probably have to replace the whole aftertreatment system to get that part.

Reminds me of when I was in the auto trans phase at Wyoming Tech. The first day the instructor told us that if we don't lose any blood, then we don't pass. Guess what? We all lost blood to sharp edges in transmissions.
